The AI journey of MesserSoft
When I studied computer science in the 1990s, AI was fascinating but far from industrial use. Thirty years later, it has changed how we work at MesserSoft – a personal look back and ahead.

OmniWin 2026: Part marking with the REA 32 inkjet marking head
Traceability does not end at the cutting table. The more information is printed directly on the part, the fewer queries come up in the downstream production steps and the less manual matching is required.
-
OmniWin 2026: Cost per pierce as a separate item in your calculation
Every pierce causes wear – electrode, nozzle, shield cap, protective glass – regardless of how far you cut afterwards. Until now, that share could only be folded into the cutting metre rate.
-
OmniWin 2026: Formed ends straight from the 3D model
Formed ends are among the most demanding parts in bevel cutting: a curved surface, pipe penetrations, and bevel angles that change continuously along the contour.
-
OmniWin 2026: Precise contours for complex 3D parts
In 3D import, contour quality determines everything downstream - especially for parts with variable bevels and bevel transitions. OmniWin 2026 introduces a new import method for exactly this: "Projection Based 3D Import".
-
OmniWin 2026: See what needs attention – before deadlines slip
Production planning means juggling many orders at once: due dates, nesting progress, open items - all competing for your attention.
-
OmniWin 2026: All bevel information at a glance
Bevel cutting involves a lot of relevant parameters: bevel types, angles, land heights, and more. Showing all of this directly on the nesting plan quickly makes it cluttered.
-
OmniWin 2026: Every torch in position. Every millimeter earned
On a multitorch machine, torch positioning directly impacts material yield and throughput. OmniWin already controls maximum and minimum torch spacing. OmniWin 2026 adds a third option: "Set full plate width distance".

Protected Zones in OmniWin – Excluding Plate Areas from Nesting
Not every area on a plate is suitable for nesting. With Protected Zones in OmniWin, you can define areas where no parts should be placed – ideal for damaged spots, markings, or machine-specific zones.

Finally: Production planning that's transparent, flexible, and predictable
In many cutting operations, production planning still feels like daily firefighting — missing information, last minute changes, paper chaos, unexpected downtime.
-
Operational Excellence as a Prerequisite for Innovation
Many companies hesitate. Not because they reject digitalization, but because they fear too much at once: chaos in day-to-day operations, costs without a clear end, employees who become overwhelmed, structures that suddenly stop working.

Digital transformation does not fail because of technology. It fails because of leadership.
If digitalization is still treated as an IT project, the real issue has already been missed. Software, automation and platforms are widely available. What is missing is ownership at the leadership level.
