This change comprises a new function allowing you to generate the NC code for an individual part, and a streamlined terminology.
- Primarily, you now use "Generate NC" instead of "Export" to create the NC code for the machine.
- “Save” stores your new or changed objects to the database.
- “Generate NC” creates the NC code for the machine, based on a nesting plan or a part.
- “Generate production data” generates the full output as configured in the OmniWin options.
- “Export” allows you to export a nesting plan or a part to an external format like XML, DWG, or DXF.
- “Export to CSV” exports defined information, such as part name, number or delivery date included in nesting plans to a CSV file.
Export, save or generate?
There are several ways to "store" and "extract" data from OmniWin. The function names now reflect clearly what occurs in the background:
- Export: You export data from OmniWin to an external file format, e.g., XML, DWG or DXF usually for further processing by a third-party application.
- Save: You save data, such as parts, plates, or nesting plans to the OmniWin database for internal use in OmniWin.
- Generate: You generate data for production. This can be an individual NC code for a part or nesting plan, or you generate a configured set of production data comprising NC code(s) or reports.
